A. Q. / Customer Comments
How
often should my system require maintenance?
Most systems should be cleaned and checked twice yearly;
1) spring for cooling and
2) fall for heating. On average a properly maintained system will cost
30% less to operate.
What does SEER mean?
Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (ratio for determining electrical usage).
The higher the SEER ratio, the lower the operating cost.
Why do I need a humidifier?
Lacking humidity in the winter can cause many common problems such as
static, dry skin, sinus and respiratory problems and cracks in molding
or shrinkage of wood. Death Valley and the Sahara Desert are about 24%
relative humidity in comparison to the average heated home in winter which
is about 15-20%. No wonder we have problems associated with dryness.
Can special filters make a difference?
Standard disposable filters are about 8% efficient. We have available
filtrations systems that catch as much as 99% of particles which will
eliminate dust, pollens, skin flakes, etc. to make a cleaner healthier
home for you and your family.
When should I replace my system?
The average heating and air conditioning system has a life of about 12 -
15 years. System efficiency, performance and comfort has been significantly
enhanced within the past few years. Systems that are ten years or older
in all likelihood do not merit high repair costs. Before you are faced with
the emergent decision to replace or repair, contact us through our web site
or by phone. Our comfort consultants can assist you with a free in-home
evaluation. |
